The Toucan's Tale
Long before the neon lights and jackpot buzz, Toucan’s was just a name shared between grade school to college friends over a bowl of Froot Loops in a tiny Hawaiian apartment.
Back in their early days, Stan Guidroz and Lane Prejean packed up for paradise--Hawaii--where they attended college and launched a little photography business. Tourists would strike a pose, and moments later, Stan and Lane would have film developed and ready to sell, capturing beachside memories in real time. They needed a name—something fun, tropical, and easy to remember. One look at the cereal box on the table, and just like that, Toucan’s was born.​
Eventually, the island life faded into memory as they returned to Lafayette, raised families, and rejoined the workforce—at a different casino amusement company. Years passed, but the dream never disappeared. Then came 2021. In the middle of the chaos of COVID, Stan walked into Lane’s office and said something wild: “I have been presented an opportunity I can’t pass up and I am starting my own company—Toucan’s Casino.” Lane laughed. He thought it was a joke. But it wasn’t.​
Fast forward four years: Stan Guidroz is now our CEO, and Lane Prejean is our Director of Finance & Compliance. What started as a college side hustle fueled by cereal and big dreams has grown into one of the fastest-growing amusement casino companies in Louisiana.
